Overwhelmed parent? Say it here first

Meet Grandma and Auntie, and pick the faces that feel like family.

You love them, and you're also running on empty. Both are true. Parents are told to be grateful and patient all the time, so it can feel like there's nowhere to say "I'm done" without being judged.

Small resets

  • Name it before you snap. Saying "I'm at my limit" to someone, even to Ally, takes the pressure down.
  • Lower one bar today. Cereal for dinner is not a failure. Pick the one thing that matters and let the rest be good enough.
  • Get five quiet minutes. Bathroom door locked, phone face down, three slow breaths. It counts.
  • Tell one real person. A friend, a partner, a neighbor. Being seen helps more than being perfect.

A place that isn't a feed

Ally is private. You can think out loud at 11 p.m. after the kids are down, and nobody sees it, scores it, or sells it. Grandma listens, asks good questions, and tells you the truth kindly. She isn't a therapist or a parenting expert, and she's not a replacement for support from people and professionals. If you ever feel unsafe, or worried about hurting yourself or someone else, call or text 988 or call 911.
